Two roofs on the same street can take the same hailstorm and come out with completely different problems. One gets a scatter of dents across its metal ridge caps and step flashing, dramatic to look at from the driveway and doing nothing to how the roof performs. Why size and softness both matter

Not every hailstone that lands on a shingle leaves a functional mark, and size is only part of the equation.
