  • Gutters and downspouts that stay frozen solid while the roof is shedding water. A gutter packed with ice cannot carry meltwater away, which pushes it back toward the roof edge instead.
  • Musty attic odor after the thaw passes. A smell that was not there before can mean the frost that melted during the warm spell is now sitting as damp insulation.
